Many members of the CalGreeks community are the generation of their family to become a part of fraternity or sorority life. As such, it can be confusing for some parents to keep up with all the new terminology that they’re son or daughter is using!
Alumni and college staff who bring experience and guidance to collegiate members.
A chapter member who is no longer in college.

The name that is applied to all fraternity and sorority members.
The Interfraternity Council – the governing body of the male, traditionally housed groups.
The formal ritual ceremony in which a new member takes final vows for full membership.
A student who has accepted the bid of a fraternity or sorority.
The Multi-Cultural Greek Council – the governing body of the culturally based groups (male and female).
The National Pan-hellenic Council – the governing body of the historically African-American groups (male and female).
The Panhellenic Council – the governing body of the female, tradiotionally housed groups.
The mutual selection process by which prospective new members and chapter members get to know each other.
