Recruitment Counselors

Your recruitment counselor will be your encouragement, guidance and support during fall sorority recruitment and beyond. She will lead you from chapter to chapter, keep track of your party schedules, and be there for you 24 hours a day when you need advice or unbiased opinions. Your recruitment counselor, who you will meet on August 26th, will be your connection to the world of Panhellenic sororities as you begin your Sweet Start to Sisterhood. I look forward to meeting each of you in the fall. Go Bears and go Greek!

Alyssa Stalley

Hi! My name is Alyssa Stalley and I’m from Williams, CA… a little town an hour north of Sacramento. I’m a Media Studies major graduating this December! I love to ride horses. My whole family competes in endurance riding together. I actually founded the Cal Equestrian Team, a club sport here at Cal. Watching everyone join their chapters was one of my favorite experiences at Cal as a PHC Exec last year—I cannot wait to do it again!

Ariel Oxman

Hi there! My name is Ariel. I’m a 20th Century U.S History and Legal Studies major from Orange County. I am on the Cal Mock Trial team and love public speaking and arguing. My dream would be to go to law school on the East Coast and eventually become a well-paid and fashion forward attorney (like Elle Woods, obviously). I’m kind of a dork, but I would describe myself as a fun, clever, and outgoing. I also have a passion for music, dancing, baking, Chipotle, and all things Disney. I cannot wait to take this amazing journey with you!

Kellie Carlson

Hi! My name is Kellie Carlson and I am a 3rd year from San Clemente, CA. I am double majoring in Society & Environment and Conservation of Resource Studies. This year I worked as the Sustainability Director in the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC). I love cooking and baking and I hope one day I can go to Italy and attend culinary school. I also love playing video games! I cannot wait to start this adventure with you!

Abby Sassaman

Hi my name is Abby Sassaman. I’m a Junior at Berkeley, majoring in Integrative Biology and minoring in Global Poverty. I’m originally from Texas, so I love anything country. Jessica Burton

Hi there! My name is Jessica and I’m a fourth year in Materials Science and Engineering. I’m from Livermore, CA, and I like to spend my free time hanging out with friends and running marathons. I can’t wait to get to know you in the Fall!

Rose Zeolla

Hi, my name is Rose Zeolla and I am a 3rd year at Cal! I am majoring in History with a minor in Italian Studies and hope to be an elementary school teacher in the future. I have always been an outdoor-oriented person and love anything that involves nature. I am also passionate about languages– I speak Italian and Spanish, and I will hopefully learn French before I graduate! I am so excited to meet everyone during recruitment!

I am probably the world’s laziest person; if you don’t find me napping in my bed, you will definitely find me on the couch watching one of my many favorite TV shows. Hi! My name is Arienne Malekmadani and I am a 3rd year at Berkeley. I grew up in Palo Alto, which is Stanford territory I know, but I’m definitely a diehard bear. I’m majoring in Public Health and minoring in Global Poverty and Practice. I love to travel, hang out with my friends and family and go to the beach. Stephanie Hong

Hi! I’m Stephanie, and I’m a Sophomore from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA majoring in Chemical Biology. Currently, I’m in Movement, which is a dance group on campus. In my free time, I love to go to the beach, shop, play soccer, and eat (especially at late night). I’m so excited to meet many of you in the Fall!

Hi! I’m Sandya Iyer and I’m a sophomore from Palos Verdes, California. I am majoring in Integrative Biology and minoring in Public Policy. I’m currently involved in the ASUC where I am in charge of research. I enjoy playing tennis, dancing, watching Cal games, and going to the beach in my free time. I’m excited to meet you in the Fall!

Brylyn Stacy

Hi, my name Brylyn Stacy and I’m a junior transfer student from Bakersfield, CA. I’m a psychology major and I tutor other students in psychology. I enjoy a variety of activities from performing to camping. I love Star Wars and Harry Potter (and yes I took the Harry Potter DeCal offered at Cal and YES, I played Quidditch.) Hi, my name is Carly Marcum! I am a Junior Integrative Biology major with a focus on pre-med and am originally from Sacramento, CA. I love all that Berkeley has to offer: good food, good friends, and all kinds of fun activities and I would love to share all of those things with each of you! Abby VanMuijen

Hi guys, my name is Abby VanMuijen. I’m a 4th year Urban Design major from Danville, CA. When I’m not in class building models and studying city transportation plans, I play on the Cal Ultimate Frisbee Team and enjoy a good bike ride through the Berkeley hills. I love exploring outdoors, playing sports and am always down to for shenanigans. Hope you’re all as excited about the school year as I am!

Aubrey Toole

Hi! My name is Aubrey, and I am a junior, psychology major from Santa Barbara. I am very involved in my major and psychology research. I am also a member of the Cal Sailing Team and have been sailing competitively since I was 8. In my free time I love doing yoga, being outdoors, and watching romantic comedies I am so thrilled to be a recruitment counselor and cannot wait to meet all of you during recruitment!

Hi! My name is Alyssa and I’m from Campbell, which is about an hour south of Berkeley. I’m an incoming junior majoring in psychology. At Cal, I’m a reporter for CalTV and a research assistant at a psychology lab on campus. Outside of Cal, I’m a three year vegetarian and a certified scuba diver. I can’t wait until the Fall to get to know all of you!

Hi, my name is Vanessa and I am an incoming junior. I am double majoring in Media Studies and Political Science. I am originally from the Bay Area, specifically from San Jose. Hi, my name is Mina Azarnoush, and I am from Los Angeles. I am majoring in Nutritional Science & Toxicology: Physiology and Metabolism, and I’m also pre-med. I am an avid runner and an even more avid shopper. I also have a slight addiction to fashion blogs and vegan cooking blogs, but it’s currently under control. Hey! My name is Jenny, and I’m a 3rd-year English major with dreams of a career in writing, publishing, or academia. Julia Spangler

Hey girls! My name is Julia, and I am a 3rd year majoring in Integrative Bio. I’m from Davis, and I enjoy singing, dancing, and learning to play the guitar. At home, I love to jump on our trampoline with my 8 year-old sister, and play with my adorable Boston Terrier, Bozley! During the summer, I worked at the Lair of the Golden Bear summer camp, and had such a fun time being the director of the 2-5 year olds. Hi, my name is Tiana Kazemi and I am from Irvine, CA. I am a 3rd year Integrative Biology major (I’m pre-med) and my dream is to attend medical school at UCLA. I currently work at a research lab, tutor at a local elementary school, and am part of Prytanean Woman’s Honor Society. Hi my name is Sarah Kayne and I am an intended Public Health major with a specialization in infectious diseases. I am pre-med, volunteer at the Alta Bates Hospital, and worked for UCSF this summer. My favorite thing to do at Cal is to walk around the Botanical Gardens and nap on memorial glade. My hobbies include skiing, playing soccer, and running. Fun facts: I’m the youngest of five children and I’m deaf which is part of the reason why I want to become a doctor!

Jessie Moreton

Hello! I’m Jessie. I’m from San Marino in Southern California, although as a fourth year at Cal I find myself much more at home in NorCal these days. I’m a chemistry major, and I spend a lot of my time in the lab I work in, making solar cells. I’m also a campus tour guide, and in my spare time I’ve been training for a marathon coming up in October. I’m looking forward to meeting you all this Fall!
