The Panhellenic Community is a group of sorority women who unite under a common commitment to leadership, scholarship, friendship, and service. Joining the Greek community is a great first step to feeling at home when you arrive in Berkeley. All of our twelve chapters are housed, providing a comfortable, supportive, and economical home environment while you are away from home.

Over 1300 women at UC Berkeley are proud to be part of Panhellenic and each chapter provides its members with the tools to achieve great success at UC Berkeley.

As sorority women, we pride ourselves on the Four Pillars of Greek Life:

LEADERSHIP: Members of sororities at UC Berkeley are given countless opportunities to develop leadership skills. Each chapter has a board of student officers elected each year. Many of our chapter women are also members of campus organizations including student government, Cal Athletics, the Cal Band, the University Orchestra, and dozens of other teams and clubs.

SCHOLARSHIP: Panhellenic women consistently achieve higher GPAs than non-Greek students. In addition, each chapter offers academic support, local and national scholarships, and ample study space for its members.

FRIENDSHIP: Friendship is at the core of Panhellenic life. The bonds between chapter women start in college, but truly last a lifetime.

SERVICE: Each chapter is committed nationally to a specific philanthropic organization for which they hold annual charity events. The Panhellenic Community also assists on local organization with proceeds from the annual Greek Benefit. In addition, Panhellenic women participate in campus-wide charity events including Relay for Life, Race for the Cure, and The Berkeley Project, among others.
