DU Fraternity to donate all proceeds from Cal-Illinois Game Parking to Hurricane Relief |

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Delta Upsilon Fraternity at Cal to donate all proceeds from Cal-Illinois Football Game Parking to Benefit American Red Cross Hurricane Relief.
The California Chapter of Delta Upsilon Fraternity will be donating 100% of its proceeds from game day parking on Saturday, Sept. 17, directly to the American Red Cross to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims. Spaces will be sold for $40 apiece. Furthermore, any additional donations will be forwarded directly to Gulf Coast disaster relief. Persons making donations will be treated to complimentary barbeque, and are free to tailgate at the DU chapter house. Delta Upsilon is located at 2425 Warring Street, two blocks south of Memorial Stadium. Parking attendants and philanthropy representatives will be on duty beginning at 9:00 am.
Because fraternity houses are located in close proximity to Memorial Stadium, their parking lots provide premium access to the game. Typically, fraternities use money raised from parking for their own programming. However, in a time of need such as this, DU has elected to donate all their proceeds to the Red Cross.
The Inter-Fraternity Council is thrilled with DU's decision and encourages other chapters to follow suit.

Delta Upsilon Fraternity, California Chapter was chartered in 1896. Delta Upsilon, the first non-secretive men's fraternity, was founded at Williams College in 1834.
The Inter-Fraternity Council governs the thrity-five National Interfraternity Conference fraternities at Cal. It serves as the representative body, which guides, supports and develops the IFC fraternity community. The IFC also acts as liaison between the University, City of Berkeley, and the individual fraternity chapters. Although hidden from the day-to-day life of member chapters, the IFC is crucial in developing a positive Greek image on-campus, as well as promoting Greek life to new and existing students.
