CHAPTER
SUMMARY:
Dear Potential New Members and the greater Cal Community,
Thank you for your interest in Alpha Chi Omega, Pi chapter at UC Berkeley. If you are considering participating in fall formal recruitment, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kate Robinson and I am honored to be the Vice President of Recruitment for Alpha Chi Omega. Formal recruitment begins in September 2008, and I am looking forward to meeting you and introducing you to all the fantastic women of our chapter. Please feel free to explore this website as well as our chapter and national websites to learn more about our organization.
Alpha Chi Omega was founded nationally at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana on October 15, 1885. Alpha Chi Omega has over 170,000 members located throughout the world. There are 132 collegiate chapters on college and university campuses throughout the United States and near by, 200 alumnae chapters. We were established to provide a basis of mutual helpfulness and of congenial fellowship. The purpose of Alpha Chi Omega is to provide the advancement of the intellectual, social and moral culture of its members. I can say from personal experience, being a part of this organization has truly improved both my life and my college years here at Cal. Our chapter is a diverse and dynamic group of women who each bring something unique to our organization.

MESSAGE
FROM THE PRESIDENT:
Welcome!
Alpha Chi Omega is a Greek women's organization offering lifetime opportunties for friendship, leadership, scholarship, and service. Shortly after joining Pi chapter in the fall of my freshman year, I was bombarded with seventy friend requests on facebook and the memory on my phone was becoming full with text messages from older members. Entering college is a challenging and rewarding time and I would not have made the most of it without Alpha Chi Omega. The semester flew by while I took my first midterms, spent my first holidays away from my family, and enjoyed all college has to offer. I felt assured knowing I'd always have a place to call home and enjoy the company of my sisters. I took on leadership roles in the chapter and prepared to move into the chapter house the following spring. Throughout the past six semesters I have grown and developed into the person I am today. I feel confident in the leadership and scholarship skills I have learned from my sisters and the lifetiem friendships I have developed. My membership in Alpha Chi Omega has supported and inspired me through the good times and the bad and I am so proud of this amazing group of women.
