For the second year in a row, executive councils of IFC, Panhellenic, MCGC
and NPHC went to the Marin Headlands for a weekend of team building and establishing
goals for the year ahead. Under the guidance of several CalGreeks advisors,
council officers focused on unity, strengthening organizations, SMART goals,
and effective leadership. Every member left the retreat with a better sense
of purpose and a new vision for their council for the year.

On November 17th, volunteers from the Cal Greek Community got down and
dirty at Malcolm X Elementary! They did landscaping, repainting, and
also planted trees. They also touched the local neighborhood by
repainting street barriers, constructing a mosaic, picking up trash, and pulling out
weeds. Down the street at Grove Park, volunteers painted over endless
amounts of graffiti.
IFC Philanthropy Chair Jeff Young says, "It was a really good time! Now every time we drive by the elementary school we can notice a significant difference made possible by the efforts of the Cal Greek community!"
Several of the parent volunteers who helped organize the event said that this was the most successful work day Malcolm X has had since they've been there. The school looks beautiful, with 250 new trees and plants, and areas weeded and mulched! Thanks to everyone for helping out!

Friday, October 27th saw the unheralded success of Cal Greeks 7th annual Trick or Greek event. Over 500 children from 7 local elementary schools enjoyed a spooky tour through decorated fraternity and sorority chapter houses. Members from Panhellenic, MCGC, NPHC and IFC councils worked tirelessly throughout the night to provide creative decorations, mountains of candy and excellent Halloween spirit.
Four separate routes took children through the likes of Sigma Nu, Kappa Alpha, Tri Delta and over 40 other chapters stuffed to the brim with sugary delights.
“It is important we do not under value the significance of our philanthropic ideals. Trick or Greek put our words to action in the best way possible. Everyone was so stoked,” asserted IFC Philanthropy Chairman Jeff Young.
