CHAPTER
SUMMARY:
Delta Delta Delta Fraternity, founded in 1888, began as an organization
concerned with the growth and development of the college woman and has
evolved into a leader among sororities.
THE PURPOSE OF DELTA DELTA DELTA shall be to establish a
perpetual bond of friendship among its members, to develop a stronger
and more womanly character, to broaden the moral and intellectual life,
and to assist its members in every possible way.
IT SHALL ALSO BE THE PURPOSE OF DELTA DELTA DELTA to promote
and develop mutually beneficial relationships between the Fraternity
and the colleges and universities where the Fraternity has established
chapters, to develop qualities of unselfish leadership among its
members, and to encourage them to assume, with integrity and devotion
to moral and democratic principles, the highest responsibilities of
college women.
Our motto, "Let us steadfastly love one another," is the
foundation upon which Tri Delta was established. From Cal game days, to
philanthropy and socials, the memories that we make today will stay
with us forever. The bonds of sisterhood reach far beyond our chapter
walls. We know that once we leave the University of California at
Berkeley, we will not be leaving each other.

MESSAGE
FROM THE PRESIDENT:
As I enter my fourth and final year at UC Berkeley, I frequently find myself thinking back on my college experiences during the past three years at Cal. I joined TriDelta as a first year during my first week at Cal not knowing what to expect. At first, I was apprehensive about the idea of instantaneously calling 70+ women (who I had either
barely or never met before) my friends and sisters. I couldn't even convince myself that I could learn everyone's name by the end of my first year at Cal!
Needless to say, those feelings of uncertainty quickly disappeared after spending time with each member of Pi chapter. Today, I cannot imagine what my life at Cal would be like without being a member of TriDelta. Almost every college memory I have ties back to TriDelta, the house, my sisters, and to the organization. Everyday I am amazed
at how lucky I am to have joined this house during that shaky first week at Cal, because without my sisters, my best friends, here at TriDelta, I would not be able to say that the past few years were the most fun, insightful, and heartfelt years of my life.
I am so excited for the coming year and am looking forward to welcoming our newest pledge class (and sisters!) into our home!
I love my life at Cal in TriDelt blue and gold forever, GO BEARS! TriDelta's flying high!

CHAPTER HISTORY:
Pi Chapter was founded at the University of California at Berkeley on
April 14, 1900. Nationally, Tri Delta is recognized as one of the
largest and strongest collegiate sororities in the nation. The UC
Berkeley chapter of Tri Delta was the first DDD chapter founded on the
west coast and we have maintained a strong and ongoing legacy on the
Berkeley campus. Pi Chapter recently celebrated its 107th birthday this
past spring! Our chapter house is located on Warring Street in South
Berkeley, right across the street from the International House. It is
literally steps away from Cal campus and within feet of Memorial
Stadium (Go Bears!).
The physical chapter house is special because it was the
first sorority at Cal to be built specifically to be sorority. This
provides our members with spacious rooms and great bay views, as well
as adequate privacy throughout the house while still providing large,
open common areas and high ceilings. One of the most unique aspects of
our chapter house is that only members of Delta Delta Delta have ever
occupied the house! William Wurster, the famed 20th century California
architect whom UC Berkeley's "Wurster Hall" is named for, designed the
chapter house in the 1930s.
Our chapter house boasts spectacular bay views, a large
balcony for barbequing or tanning, and a private patio. The house also
has two stories of balconies extending the length of the house on the
second and third levels. These "catwalks" provide the perfect location
for cheering on the Blue and Gold on Game Days as well as providing a
pleasant and convenient place to step outside for fresh air whenever
you want. With our spacious rooms spanning the chapter's three stories,
Tridelta can house 65+ women. Additionally, Tridelta has one of the
largest sorority parking lots with 12 full size parking spots reserved
exclusively for our members located right outside in our chapter's
driveway.
Along with the common dining room, living room, solarium,
and entertainment room, we also have a chapter room (for Deltas only)
and "study tables" (an area with study files, desks and quiet hours all
the time) located below our first floor of bedrooms which sit street
level on the west wing of the house. We also have several pieces of
workout equipment, a laundry room with multiple washing machines and
dryers, and wireless DSL throughout the entire chapter. Our house has
been recently redecorated and looks fantastic!
