Chapter Summary/Information: Phi Kappa Psi fraternity was created based on its founders' belief in "the joy of serving others," and the Cal Gamma chapter has continued this tradition of cultivating generous, compassionate, and loyal brothers. A true Phi Psi seeks intellectual, moral, and spiritual excellence. A true Phi Psi counsels and guides his brothers. A true Phi Psi deepens his integrity while strengthening his fraternity's honor. Phi Kappa Psi is committed to serving others and expects only the best from its brothers.

Message from the President: Phi Kappa Psi was first established at UC Berkeley in 1899 and was among the first Fraternities on campus. With over 100 chapters nationwide we are one of the ten largest Fraternities in the country and benefit from a large network of local and national alumni. We look to instill integrity, leadership, and confidence in all of our members. We are involved in a number of campus sports teams, charities and clubs that allow our Brothers to excel in athletics, academics and in the community. Annual Events: National: GAC (Grand Arch Council) (Every 2 years), ALA (American Leadership Academy) in Cabo San Lucas, Woodrow Wilson Leadership Academy, PLA (President's Leadership Academy), Founder's Day Celebrations across the U.S. Local: Big Game Luncheon in San Francisco on the Friday before the Big Game with our Alumni and our Chapter at Stanford, Phi Psi Leadership Conference in San Francisco with Brothers at Stanford and UC Davis. Annual social events at the Chapter House.

Chapter Philanthropy: We participate in various philanthropic opportunities. We regularly visit the Chaparral House in Berkeley, participate in Relay for Life, the Breast Cancer Walk in San Francisco, and the Veteran's 5K Run in Berkeley. We also are currently developing our own annual Phi Psi 500 philanthropy event, and regularly attend other Greek Organizations' philanthropical events.

Chapter History: The Cal Gamma chapter of Phi Psi was founded on April 15th 1899. In the early 90s, lack of membership prevented the chapter from continuing. However, in April 2010, Phi Kappa Psi returned to Berkeley thanks to a dedicated group of undergraduates and alumni working to recolonize the Cal Gamma chapter. Now the chapter has become well-ingrained in the Greek Community and continues to thrive.
