Message from the President: Being part of the Lambda family was the best decision I have ever made. It has made my years at Cal worthwhile and of a greater learning experience outside of a classroom setting. The Delta chapter at UC Berkeley is a relatively small one, which allows for a much closer and fruitful relationship with the active sisters. This close knit family has become my support group and I know that I can count on them for anything that I may need. Being part of a sorority is much more than what people make it seem; it takes time and commitment to plan events that will cater to our Latino community while at the same time, not letting our academics fall behind. It is comforting to know that I am not only a Lambda during my years as an undergraduate, but that once I graduate I will be an alumnae Lambda. I will always continue to be exposed to resources and different networks because “once a Lambda ALWAYS a Lambda!” I invite you to contact us for more information on how to become a sister, and you can always feel free to contact any sister if you have questions. Best of luck to you!

We provide $800-$1,000 dollars to two High school Latinas. Chapter History: Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. was founded at California State University, Chico on March 11, 1986 making it the first Latina sorority founded on the West Coast. On April 6, 1991 three undergraduate Latinas, Jennifer Garcia, Maria Martinez, and Rosalinda Valdez felt the need for an organization that offered academic and social support for Latinas at UC Berkeley. This need lead to the formation of the Delta chapter of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc., and the establishment of the first Latina organization at UC Berkeley. Since then, the Delta chapter has committed to academic excellence, community service, and sisterhood.
